How to Disable and Enable Services by Using the System Configuration Utility (msconfig)?

The System Configuration Utility msconfig (which you can also use to control other startup parameters) allows you to disable system services individually or several at a time.

To disable a service by using the System Configuration Utility, use these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Run dialog box, type msconfig, and then click OK.

Windows displays the System Configuration Utility window. go to  Services tab,

3. To disable a service, clear the check box for the service. To enable a service, select the check box for the service.

Windows displays the System Configuration dialog box, asking whether you want to restart your computer.

4. Click OK. When prompted, click Restart.

When Windows restarts, the changes you have made take effect.
